On the 1st April 2017 WEAR Sustain, a new EC Horizon 2020 funded project, launches the first of its two Open calls. The project is seeking applications from teams of European artists or designers, together with technologists or engineers, to co-create ethical or sustainable wearables and e-textiles.
Co-applicants must address pressing issues facing society via the project’s Open Call themes and will be highlighted as pioneers of ethical/sustainable wearables and e-textiles.
Insights gained will will help set the foundation for future technology ethics and sustainability methodologies leading to what next generation wearables could or should be.
Open Call 1 will fund up to 24 projects with up to €50,000 each to jumpstart promising concepts and receive support from experts, towards the development of a prototype as a possible go-to-market trajectory.
Competition opens: 1st April 2017
Submission Deadline: 31st May 2017
