WEAR Sustain Newsletter - July 2017

We are absolutely delighted to announce that 23 winning teams have been selected to receive WEAR Sustain funding.

Selected teams will go on to develop their ethical Next Generation wearable technology, smart or electronic textile over the next 6 months. Stay tuned for details in July on the winning projects’ developments and their support Hubs across Europe. The successful projects are listed in the Awardees section here.

Thanks so much to everyone that applied. We had to make some hard choices. If you haven’t done so already, do subscribe to our newsletter and social media feeds to stay informed and to hear about our next and final Open Call.

WEAR Sustain Hubs

You may have been wondering what WEAR Sustain Hubs are and what they do. Hubs form an integral part of the WEAR Sustain legacy, mapped as key change makers and supporters in future wearable, smart textile, creative and technology development across a wide range of sectors. We currently have 221 Hubs mapped across Europe.

Take a look at this article that describes a Hub and learn how to put your organisation on the map, if you are not on there already.

WEAR Sustain Resources

WEAR Sustain has collated an excellent resource of presentations and videos on collaboration, sustainability and ethics, kindly supplied by our event co-organisers and the speakers who participated in our first Open Call events this April and May.  You can now view these in our Slideshare and Youtube channels.

Don’t forget to subscribe to these channels as we will be adding more resources over the duration of the project.

In addition, our events partner Creative Ring has put together a great summary video of the events they coordinated on our behalf.
