24 winning teams selected for WEAR Sustain funding

WEAR Sustain is absolutely delighted to announce that 24 winning teams have been selected to receive it’s second round of funding.

Following in the footsteps of the 1st round of funded projects, WEAR has selected a second cohort of WEAR Sustain Awardees to go on to develop their proposed collaborative prototypes, which address our Open Call for ethical and sustainable wearable technology, smart or electronic textile innovation. The projects partners will work together over a period of 6 months, starting later this March.

Over 100 applications were considered eligible and 38 teams went through to the pre-selection stage. Teams were informed of their pre-selection status on the 1st February and invited to pitch to a Selection Committee of five judges on the 8th and 9th February. 24 projects were finally selected for funding and informed the week after. Project leads are based in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark and Turkey.

Teams are due to start work in the 2nd half of March, after the WEAR Sustain Induction day on the 23rd March. Teams are now being matched with their support mentors and hubs.

We congratulate all team members and wish them every success.
